T5 English

The Catch - we watched the wordless film, made story maps, thought about characters feelings and how to describe these (show, not tell) in our writing, thesaurus work to extend our vocabulary choices and then we wrote up our exciting versions.

T5 wk1 and 2 - explanation texts (linked with science)

We are writing explanation texts at the moment. We have been warming up with the game 'articulate' because it is helping us to describe things clearly and specifically. So far it is a draw with both teams currently scoring 12 points. 

We are writing an explanation text on the water cycle. As it is quite a complicated process with many long technical words we have observed a model producing the same effects of the water cycle and then made our own (currently stuck up on our window). Our next step was to try and write this up clearly so we have been using conjunctions such as: in order to, because, so, therefore and which.
