Unfortunately today (06/10/17) we were not able to access our Forest School site on Friday due to work being carried out and alternative arrangement was made. Instead we took part in planned walk at the top of Wittenham Clumps. The children challenged themselves climbing on a fallen tree, learning new stopping points and working together to overcome the climb of a steep hill. We certainly needed our drink and snack at the top!
Today (29/09/17) we worked in two groups at our Forest School site. We will swap group next week so all children are able to participate in both activities). Group 1 worked with Miss Haines and had a very important job of identifying trees/leaves. Using charts and books they were able to name many of the species we found. Group 2 worked with Mrs Field to make tree cookies (we will decorate these later in the term), needing to carefully measure how much string/wool we needed and learning to tie an overhand (stopper) knot.
