Term 2

What Have We Been Learning?

Today (02/11/17) we enjoyed a local walk (next week we will visit out Forest School site).  Have a look at our photographs below to see what we got up to!
Today (09/11/17) we enjoyed our first visit this term to our site.  We had time to enjoy den building and exploring before enjoying hot chocolate (or water) and a biscuit.

We love a puddle and we love a bubble!  Today (16/11/17) as we walked towards the site a number of children were excited to see there were still some puddles on the track.  Once onsite we practised and learnt a number of skills (halving, threading, knotting) which resulted in blowing bubbles.  This is an activity re-visited by some children as it is always so popular.  It was so pleasing to see the year 2 children challenging themselves to make bigger/longer bubbles! Have a look at our photographs and I have managed to upload one video of our fun.

Today (23/11/17) we enjoyed visiting our Forest School site.  Thankfully the wind had dropped enough during the day to allow us to safely visit (in high winds we need to think about twigs/branches falling from trees and our safety).  The children today enjoyed den building.  They were able to decide who they worked with to build their den. Have a look at our photographs below.

Week 5

Today (30/11/17) was our last Forest Session at our site.  We enjoyed den building, using the swings and exploring.  Next week is our last Forest School this term.

Today (07/12/17) was our last Forest School session this term.  Unfortunately the weather was not on our side for our planned activity.  By lunch, we had to make a decision whether we were staying at school to enjoy fire making in the pouring rain or save this activity for next term.  As you can see from our photographs, we decided a local walk would be safer as it was still pouring down. In true British weather, by 1pm the rain had stopped and you can see from our photographs the promised sunshine eventually made a breakthrough. Next term we will enjoy make and using fire (weather permitting).
