May - Truthfulness

Throughout our worship on the value of Truthfulness, children will learn that truthfulness is being honest, not only in words but actions too. They will learn why it is wrong to tell lies, even if it is to protect themselves from getting into trouble. Children will be able to see with their own eyes and make up their own mind about what is true.

“The way, the truth and the life”

April -  Peace

As part of our work on the value of Peace, we will spend time considering how peace is more than just being quiet or being in a place that is noise free. We will look at Jesus' teaching about living peaceful lives, as well as other key figures in Christianity. We will think about other words that describe being 'peaceful', such as relaxed, calm, happy and tranquil.

March -  Forgiveness

During our Collective worship on Forgiveness we will be thinking about how important it is to forgive people who upset us and how we need to say sorry if we do things to hurt others. We will be learning about how Jesus is a great inspiration to Christians to forgive others. We will also think about God's all-forgiving love.

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your Heavenly Father will forgive you”

January -  Wisdom

During our collective worship on Wisdom, we will think about how Christians believe that true wisdom comes from God. As a believer grows in faith so wisdom will increase. In the Bible wisdom is seen as both a gift from God and a characteristic of God. In his parables, Jesus taught that placing trust in God and recognising what is of value in life, brings fulfilment.

“For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it”

Proverbs 8:11

December -  Courage

During our collective worship on Courage, we will think about the importance of standing up for what is right against the odds, sticking by one’s convictions and not being swayed as well as strength of will. We will also think about how we can encourage each other to do so too.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9

November -  Service

During our collective worship on Service, we will think about how Jesus inspired people to serve God. We will think about how we can aspire to serve others and be thankful for those who help and serve our school. We will recognise our own gifts and how we might use them effectively to service others within our school and community.
