This term we will looking initially at Roman numerals, negative numbers and division. Our class work at differentiated levels according to our needs, with activities and concrete materials specially selected to help us progress in our learning. We also regularly practise our times tables.
In science we are looking at Living Things and Their Habitats which links with our Forest School outings. Currently, we are learning about classification keys and are having a go at creating our own to sort a variety of living things.
Our topic this term is the Victorians. We will learn about what life was like for children in Victorian times, find out about the Industrial Revolution and even have a Victorian Day when we experience first hand what a Victorian school day would have been like.
Swallows Class have PE on a Monday afternoon and then swimming on a Wednesday afternoon at Berinsfield Sports Centre alongside the KS2 classes from Clifton Hampden School. Please make sure your child brings their P.E/ swimming kit into school on these days.
This term we are looking at the Big Question 'Do clothes express belief?' We will hold class discussions to share our ideas and opinions on this question, and look at what clothing represents in a selection of religions.

Year 6 will be given focused work books on both Maths and English, allowing them to practice the necessary skills required for the upcoming SATs. Year 4 & 5 will be given homework each week based on what we have been learning in class.
